I’m Misty. I’m probably a lot like most of you. I’m 29 for the 6th time (you can do the math on that if you really want) and I have 3 fantastic kids. I’m a senior programmer for a great company, but like millions of other people, I live paycheck to paycheck. Sometimes my bills are late and sometimes I have to cut coupons to feed the family. Although I work in a great company and I am good at what I do, I have decided I don’t want to keep going through life in a constant struggle. I want to be able to give my kids the things I want to give them and I want to feel good about our lives when I wake up in the morning.

No, I’m not going to give a heroic story of how I am going to run in and quit my job and start working from home doing something that will make me millions of dollars. Call my cynical, but I just don’t think life works like that. Besides, truth be told, I actually really enjoy my job and the people I work with. But how great would it be to work a few extra hours each week and make a significant difference in my income? How will I do that? Well, I am still in the planning stages of that but am looking at various passive income stream ideas to get me going. I have read so many articles about successful women who have made it in the world of “work at home” and I know there is something out there for me too. After my initial research of figuring out what I want to do, passive income streams seem to be my best solution.

Why Passive Income?

If you aren’t familiar with what passive income is, it is basically an income source that you setup once and continue to earn money on without any additional work. What’s so great about that? For someone with a family and a job this is incredibly great! This means you can do something to generate an income stream, such as creating an e-book that you sell online, and continue to sell it over and over and over again without doing anything else to it after the initial release. This is exactly what I am looking for!

I don’t consider myself an expert in marketing or in passive income. I started this blog to share my research, experience, successes and failures with others because I am almost 100% sure that there are others who in the same position that I am. As I learn things, come up with new ideas or figure out a strategy for making more passive income, I will share them here on the blog so that others can benefit from the information as well.
